Nils Gumpfer is a postdoctoral researcher at the Competence Center for Information Technology at Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen and a member of the TimeXAI research group. His research focuses on explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) for time-series data, human-centered AI, and user-centered evaluation methodologies. He received his PhD from the Graduate Center for Engineering Sciences at the Research Campus of Central Hessen in cooperation with the Philipps University of Marburg, graduating with summa cum laude. Prior to his academic career, he gained industry experience in data science, which continues to shape his applied research in medical and industrial AI applications. In addition to his research activities, he is actively involved in teaching practice-oriented courses in embedded systems and machine learning.
